DoD

Also known as: Depth of Discharge

How much of a battery's energy is used in each discharge cycle — affects cycle life inversely.

Depth of Discharge (DoD) is the percentage of a battery's capacity removed during a discharge cycle. Higher DoD reduces cycle life. For stationary BESS, operating between 10% and 90% SoC = 80% DoD. Pure cycle-life models often quote cycles at 80% DoD as the benchmark.
