Inverter control algorithm that continuously adjusts operating voltage to extract the maximum power from a solar array.
What it means
Maximum Power Point Tracking is a control algorithm in solar inverters that continuously adjusts the DC operating voltage to extract the maximum power from the connected PV array. Solar I-V curves shift with irradiance and temperature, so MPPT must track these changes. Modern utility-scale string inverters have 6–12 independent MPPTs to handle module mismatch from shading or soiling.
